- concerts and events at the Shark Tank Pub, including Free Tickets
- contests and exclusive prize giveaways, including the opportunity to Win a iPhone or Blackberry!
- last day notices for services
We deliver the news to you, instead of you having to seek it out.
Who can subscribe?
The text alerts service is available to all full time Loyalist College students.
Will it be annoying?
No! We won’t text you for every article we post, so it’s not like spam. You’ll only get the breaking stuff, sometimes even before we post the article. That means you’ll be the first to know what’s happening on campus.
How will the LoyalistStudents.com use my cell phone number?
All subscribers’ cell phone numbers will remain confidential and will be used only for LoyalistStudents.com notifications.
Are there charges for text messages received from the LoyalistStudent.com?
There is no extra charge for text messages from LoyalistStudents.com. However, your cell phone provider may charge you to receive text messages. Please check the conditions and rates of your particular calling/text messaging plan.
How do I sign up to receive text messages?
- Text: “LOYALIST” to 32075
- You will need to confirm your subscription via your cell phone. A text mesage will appear on your phone asking you to confirm your subscription.
How long after I sign up will I receive a text confirming my subscription?
You should receive the text almost immediately. There could be a delay of a few minutes but your text will be delivered soon.
How do I participate in contests by text?
Pending on the contest requirements:
- as a subscriber to LoyalistStudents.com text alerts service, you'll automatically be entered in the contest OR
- to enter a contest you will have to text the unique keyword to 32075
Contests are open to full time Loyalist College students.
With regards to the Win a iPhone or Blackberry Contest, all LoyalistStudents.com subscribers are automatically entered into this contest.
I signed up to receive text messages more than a day ago, but I have not received a confirmation text on my cell phone. What should I do?
If you have not received a confirmation text, please contact us. Send an email with your name, mobile phone number, and the approximate date/time you signed up to support@text-alerts.loyaliststudents.com
What if a friend signs me up and I do not wish to receive text messages?
Not to worry! Your friend will not be able to complete the subscription, as they would need to send a confirmation via your cell phone! You will have the last laugh!
How do I opt-out from receiving text messages?
You can opt-out from receiving text messages at any time:
- Text: “LOYALIST LEAVE LOYALISTSTUDENTS” to 32075
This removes your subscription.
Do I need to change any settings on my cell phone to receive text messages from the LoyalistStudents.com?
No, you will not need to change any settings on your cell phone to receive text messages from LoyalistStudents.com
Will I start to receive spam messages on my cell phone?
All subscribers’ cell phone numbers will remain confidential and will be used only for LoyalistStudents.com notifications. If you receive spam messages, they will not be as a result of signing up for this service.
What if I change my cell phone service provider or lose my cell phone and purchase a new one?
If you change cell phone providers, but keep your existing mobile number, you will still receive text messages. If your number changes, you will need to sign up again for the text alerts service.
How can I recognize a text message from the LoyalistStudents.com, i.e. what number will appear on my phone?
The number that will appear on your cell phone is “32075”
How often will I be receiving text messages?
You will receive text messages weekly and in some cases, bi-weekly, depending on the amount of information the LoyalistStudents.com would like to pass on to students.
