Putting the “Student” back in “Student Centre”
At a Board Retreat in April 2008, the Student Government discussed the importance of revitalizing the Student Centre to make it a more pleasant and inviting place to be for students in between classes.
Renovations in the Student Centre began with the partial removal of the divider wall between the bar and Tim Hortons to open up the space and to increase the sight lines of these areas. The bar area received new back-bar shelving to display beverages. 
afterStudent Government members selected couches and end tables for the area across from Tim Hortons to provide more comfortable options for students to relax, study or socialize in between classes. Track lighting was added to the area to provide a more modern and brighter effect. 
beforeWith assistance from Loyalist College staff and students, Student Government members selected paint colours that would provide a more appealing atmosphere for students.
All of these improvements complement the Student Centre’s already amazing features such as:
- 7 pool tables
- Tim Hortons
- Wireless Hot Spot
- 7 TV’s
- Plasma Screen
- Big Screen
- Hit Movies
- Licensed Patio
