Student Government Members Placed Behind Bars

On Friday, October 3, Vice-President of Student Life, Jessyca Tremblay and Board of Governors Student Leader, Drew Carlson participated in the Kidney Foundation of Canada’s fundraiser, Roundup for Research.

Jessyca and Drew were “arrested” in the Student Government office for committing “treason”. Their “crime” consisted of cheering for the other team as opposed to the Loyalist Lancers while they were participating on the Loyalist College Spirit Squad.

The two Student Government members were escorted in handcuffs to the Quinte Mall where they went before a judge who set their “bail” based on the donations they were able to collect. They were then placed in a mock jail and given a cell phone to call their pre-arranged donors and ask them to donate money so they could be “released.”

With the help of a donation on behalf of the students of Loyalist College from the Loyalist Student Government of $100, Jessyca and Drew raised a total of $395 for the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
