Athletics Fee

Athletic Facilities at Loyalist College:

• A full-sized and well-equipped gymnasium with glass basketball backboards, Spetih Anderson volleyball standards, new score board and 30 second clocks, and much more.
• Two soccer fields (one lit).
• Six Chevron cushion-coated tennis courts with lights.
• A baseball diamond.
• Volleyball courts on beach sand surrounded by grass.
• An outdoor sports pad with lighting for ball hockey, basketball, volleyball and other activities.
• 10-hole Frisbee golf course.

For hockey, indoor climbing, high rope adventures etc. arrangements are made for the use of off-campus facilities.

Loyalist teams compete in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA).  The OCAA has long been recognized as one of the toughest conferences in the Country.

• Outdoor Education: In conjunction with the Campus Recreation program, Outdoor Education offers opportunities for flat and white water canoeing, high rope adventures, mountain biking, mountain hiking and orienteering. Three ski trips are organized for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.

• Recreation: When not required for scheduled instructions, practices or games, all on-campus facilities are available to students for informal recreational activity.

Fitness Centre Fee

Full time students have access to a commercial club quality facility, 7 days a week, during their academic year which features a wide range of cardiovascular and resistance training equipment. The facility is always supervised, kept clean and maintained, and has policies in place to be as welcoming to all users as possible, irrespective of ability or level of fitness. Knowledgeable staff are on hand to orient new members to the use of the various machines; assistance is also available in creating personal exercise programs to help students reach their fitness goals. The Centre is equipped with:

• elliptical gliders
• upright and recumbent exercise bikes
• rowing machines
• treadmills
• stair climber
• exercise mats
• Swiss balls
• BOSU trainer balls
• full range of LifeFitness resistance machines
• wide selection of free weights

With the increase in operating costs and stagnation/decrease of work-study funding coupled with the need to keep our equipment maintained and current, a small fee increase was necessary.

Campus Recreation Facility Fee (Sports Dome)

Campus Recreation programs at Loyalist are fun-oriented. Most of the activities are co-ed including intramural volleyball, basketball, indoor soccer, floorball, hockey and softball held at the Sports Dome. Campus Recreation also offers Indoor Climbing, Frisbee, Tennis and Badminton Clubs.

Facilities/Locker Fee

This This fee is used to maintain the lockers and outdoor facilities. There are often costs associated with replacing and cleaning of the lockers plus the staffing to do so. This fee is also used to purchase necessary supplies i.e. tractor maintenance, new mower, bleachers, etc.

* The fee is non-refundable after 10 business days from the start of the term.

A Fee is charged per year for all full time students at the Belleville campus.

The Fee is to be paid at the start of the first term.

For each new intake during the academic year, the rates are adjusted.
